Step by step of motion

Step by step of motion,
feels like a knife thrust in a body,
there’s no return.

Our steps go away
leading us towards death,
and we are laughing at the world.

Teeth marks on an apple,
tears in a gorge,
unhappy children, we abandon...

And our steps are taking us farther,
while our laughter is more and more quiet.

We don’t even surmise where we are
and it’s good enough.
We don’t know where we came from,
but we remember the pain.

The pain, like life, is forgotten.
But then, steps remain.
And the prints of our living
stay behind as well …
